Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Backend Engineer to join our engineering team and take ownership of our MetaTrader 5 Integration. This role requires deep technical expertise developing on the MetaQuotes platforms, server-side development, and system integration. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining MT4/MT5 plugins, building robust connectivity between trading platforms and internal systems, and optimizing the performance of our trading infrastructure.

As a key technical contributor, you will work closely with our trading operations, risk management, and product teams to ensure our platform delivers exceptional performance, reliability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain MT4/MT5 plugins and server-side extensions using MQL4/MQL5, C++ and C#.
• Build and optimize connectivity layers between MetaTrader servers and internal systems including CRM, back-office, risk management, and payment platforms.
• Implement and maintain MetaTrader Manager API integrations for automated trade processing, reporting, and account management.
• Optimize MT4/MT5 server performance, including database tuning, network optimization, and resource management.
• Develop real-time data pipelines for market data distribution, trade execution monitoring, and risk analytics.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure 24/7 platform availability.
• Collaborate with DevOps to implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies for MetaTrader components.
• Design and implement failover mechanisms and disaster recovery procedures for critical trading infrastructure.
• Document technical specifications, API integrations, and system architectures.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and mentor junior engineers.

Technical Skills

• MetaTrader Platform Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience with MT4/MT5 server administration, plugin development, and Manager API integration.
• Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in C++, MQL4/MQL5; experience with C#, Python, or Go for system integration.
• Database Technologies: Advanced SQL skills with MySQL/MariaDB (MT4/MT5 native databases); experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, or MongoDB for complementary systems.
• API Development: Experience building RESTful and WebSocket APIs; familiarity with FIX protocol and trading-specific messaging.
• System Integration: Proven ability to integrate MetaTrader with third-party systems using various protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP, message queues).
• Performance Optimization: Experience with profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Linux/Windows Server: Strong command of both environments, system-level debugging, and performance tuning.
• Version Control & DevOps: Proficiency with Git, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), and containerization (Docker).

Qualifications

• Experience with financial market data feeds and liquidity provider integrations.
• Knowledge of FX/CFD market microstructure, order execution, and risk management concepts.
• Familiarity with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or NATS for event-driven architectures.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Understanding of trading platform security, authentication mechanisms, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Previous work with multi-datacenter deployments and geographical redundancy.
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities related to trading infrastructure.
