Our mission is to transform banking for good by making credit accessible, straightforward, intuitive, and rewarding. We are dedicated to fostering strong relationships with our customers, helping them succeed financially. Our commitment extends to our employees, partners, and community, driven by a passion for innovation and excellence in financial solutions.
About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff iOS Engineer to join our dynamic software development team in Toronto. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for motivating, managing, and inspiring a team of talented software engineers to deliver cutting-edge mobile applications and features. You will actively participate in hands-on development, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that enhance our customers' financial experience. Your expertise will guide the team through the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment, with a focus on creating innovative and reliable solutions.
Our team is committed to leveraging the latest technologies, including cloud computing, open source frameworks, RESTful APIs, microservices, and containerization, to accelerate product delivery and improve customer engagement. As a founder-led organization, we value creativity, agility, and making a positive impact through technology. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead impactful projects such as Credit Keeper, which enables customers to monitor their credit scores, and Quick Check, which provides pre-approval certainty for credit card applications.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in any field and have extensive experience in mobile application development. Specifically, you should have at least six years of hands-on experience developing native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI. Proven expertise in application design, technical architecture, and full-stack development is essential. Additionally, experience leading and mentoring junior and intermediate developers, as well as guiding technical and business stakeholders, is highly valued.
Preferred qualifications include over eight years of experience managing the entire software development lifecycle, familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms, and a solid understanding of open source frameworks. Experience working within agile environments and a demonstrated ability to innovate and adapt to evolving technologies will set candidates apart.
Responsibilities
At Capital One Canada, we prioritize the well-being and growth of our employees. We offer a flexible hybrid work environment with three days in the office, supported by a one-time Work From Home allowance to create a comfortable workspace. Our head office is conveniently located across from Union Station in Toronto, making commuting easier.
We are committed to supporting your physical, financial, and emotional health. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage for you and your dependents, including up to $3,000 in mental health support and up to $5,000 annually in tuition subsidies. Our benefits package is designed to help you live your best life, both inside and outside of work.

We consider all qualified applicants and are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities or other requirements.
