Security Consulting Engineer (Network Security)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Security Consulting Engineer to deliver security consulting and implementation services for strategic enterprise customers across the EMEAR region. You’ll lead a mix of subscription/on-site support activities and project-based engagements, ranging from security reviews to the design, implementation, and optimization of large-scale security infrastructure.
This role is hands-on and customer-facing. You will act as the security lead within multi-discipline teams and represent the engineering organization at customer premises, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performance network operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead customer support activities, including coordinating partner resources and mentoring less experienced engineers as needed.
- Deliver subscription-based on-site support, directly engaging with customer stakeholders and operations teams.
- Conduct security reviews and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Lead implementation of best-practice recommendations on large infrastructure environments.
- Develop and execute procedures and change plans that minimize service impact during upgrades and maintenance.
- Serve as the security lead on large-scale design and implementation projects delivered via virtual multi-disciplinary teams.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting in complex, large-scale enterprise networks involving security platforms and integrations.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 10+ years of security experience, including 8+ years with network security as the primary technical focus.
- Expert-level internetworking troubleshooting in large enterprise environments.
- Strong customer-facing consulting capability, including technical account liaison and stakeholder management.
- Deep expertise supporting, troubleshooting, and operating:
- Identity Services Engine (ISE): migrations (ACS to ISE), wired/wireless deployments, profiling, posture, and integrations via pxGrid
- Next-Gen Firewalls: FTD and ASA software for firewall and VPN services
- Expert-level knowledge of network security design and configuration across routers, firewalls, and security products.
- CCIE Security qualification (or equivalent demonstrable expert-level capability aligned to the role).
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Stealthwatch (rapid ramp-up expected if not already expert).
- Experience with:
- Email Security Appliance (ESA)
- Web Security Appliance (WSA)
- Cloud security / secure internet gateway solutions (e.g., Umbrella)
- Additional certifications are a plus: PNSE, Fortinet NSE, CISSP, TOGAF, CCDE, CEH, CISA, CISM, or equivalent security qualifications.

- ISE: Expert
- Stealthwatch: Very good → expected to reach expert quickly
- ESA / WSA / Umbrella: Very good or better
