Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Snowflake Data Engineer / Developer to design, build, and optimize modern cloud data platforms. This role is open to nearshore professionals located in Latin America who can closely align with U.S. business operations.

The ideal candidate brings strong data engineering fundamentals, deep Snowflake expertise, and experience building scalable pipelines that enable reliable analytics and data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

Snowflake Development

• Design, develop, and maintain Snowflake data models, schemas, and data warehouses
• Build Snowflake tasks, streams, stages, and pipes while optimizing virtual warehouse usage

ETL / ELT & Data Pipelines

• Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data tools and frameworks
• Implement data ingestion using Snowpipe, COPY commands, and cloud storage integrations
• Ensure high performance, quality, and reliability of data pipelines

Performance Optimization

• Optimize SQL queries, warehouse sizing, micro-partitioning, and clustering keys
• Monitor platform performance and automate cost-optimization strategies

Data Integration & Cloud Engineering

• Integrate Snowflake with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Work with APIs, data lakes, and cloud storage solutions such as S3, ADLS, or GCS
• Implement data governance, cataloging, and lineage tools as appropriate

Collaboration & Documentation

• Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements
• Document Snowflake environments, data models, and operational processes
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and architecture discussions

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Snowflake Developer
• Strong proficiency in SQL (complex joins, window functions, CTEs, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including Snowpipe, Tasks, Streams, Time Travel, and Clustering
• Experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (Kimball methodology, star schemas, fact and dimension tables)
• Proven troubleshooting skills and performance optimization experience
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within distributed, global teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as:
• Snowflake SnowPro (Core or Advanced)
• AWS, Azure, or GCP Data Engineer
• Experience with Python for orchestration or data processing
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.)
• Experience using dbt for data transformations
