About Adoption:
Adoption is a function of Engineering in Montonio that is responsible for building and maintaining integrations with e-commerce platforms such as WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Magento, and others. Adoption aims to drive new product activation in the most seamless way possible, by empowering in-house engineers to develop their features in the plugins of our key platforms and engaging external development partners for others.
The role:
We believe passionate engineers can thrive in any environment, no matter the language or framework. Hence, there’s no need to be already familiar with all of our tech.
In the Adoption team, we mostly work with PHP and JavaScript to develop features in WordPress and PrestaShop. When interacting with our core products, you may also need to dabble in Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
We use Docker to run our services both locally and in production and make heavy use of AWS services.

About Adoption:

The role:
- Engineering management: Directly manage the work of several engineers and external development partners.
- Lead cross-functional efforts: Actively empower engineers in other product teams to develop features in WooCommerce and PrestaShop by developing their skills and introducing processes that support safe cross-team collaboration on our e-commerce plugins.
- Hands-on coding: Directly contribute to the development of our WooCommerce and PrestaShop modules.
- Support merchants: Support merchants in solving technical issues with our modules. Leverage automation opportunities and continuously educate Customer Support and our merchants.
- Become the biggest merchant advocate: Deeply understand our merchants and their challenges. Leverage customer feedback, data insights, and our broader vision to shape the adoption strategy, goals, and roadmap.
- Engage across the organization: Collaborate and communicate effectively at all levels, from the CEO to all operational teams (Product, CS, Sales, Marketing, etc.)
- Solve problems big and small: Be ready to tackle any issue, whether it’s a small manual fix or a major strategic decision – if it brings value to our merchants, it’s worth your time.
- Embrace our values: Live by our core values and bring a passion for creating impactful, meaningful change, and get ready for the ride! 🚀
- You have excellent engineering management skills and experience leading engineers.
- You have 5+ years of PHP, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS coding experience, working with either WordPress or PrestaShop.
- You have a track record of taking ideas to execution.
- You can take ownership independently and you are accountable for delivering results.
- You’re a skilled communicator.
- You can collect, analyze, and make use of data.
- You are curious, adaptable, and open to challenges.
