Software Engineer, Frontend (Remote from Brazil)

This role offers the opportunity to shape the frontend of a high-performance, globally recognized desktop application used by millions of professionals. You will design, build, and maintain the UI while ensuring minimal resource usage and a smooth, reliable user experience. The position requires advocating for scalable frontend architecture, implementing robust error-handling, and optimizing performance across the stack. You will collaborate closely with backend, QA, and infrastructure teams, influence code quality practices, and mentor other engineers. Ideal candidates have deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and Electron, combined with a strong understanding of browser internals and UI engineering. This is a high-impact position that blends technical leadership, craftsmanship, and problem-solving at scale.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the desktop application with efficient CPU, memory, and thread usage
• Monitor and optimize runtime performance, addressing memory leaks, blocking operations, and rendering issues
• Advocate for scalable frontend architecture including modularity, layering, and decoupling
• Define and enforce frontend best practices, including linting, code reviews, static analysis, and automated checks
• Implement robust error-handling, crash reporting, and recovery mechanisms for critical failures
• Collaborate with backend, QA, and infrastructure teams on API contracts, versioning, and cross-release compatibility
• Instrument and maintain telemetry, logging, and metrics for app health and user flow analysis
• Mentor other frontend engineers and contribute to continuous improvements in code quality and architecture
  
  

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience, from database to UI
• Expertise in browser JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and platform APIs
• Proficiency with React, TypeScript, and Electron
• Experience implementing frontend applications with attention to performance, scalability, and reliability
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to deliver high-quality work independently
• Excellent communication skills, capable of effective asynchronous collaboration (Slack, Notion, email)
• Enthusiasm for AI and leveraging it to enhance productivity and user experiences

• Experience with AI-enhanced applications or productivity tools
• Knowledge of other technologies in the stack: Golang, Postgres, Swift, Kotlin
• Strong understanding of frontend performance optimization and observability
