The Research Group (RG) Neuroinformatics at the Faculty of Computer Science is looking for a committed and motivated technician.

The RG Neuroinformatics develops artificial intelligence methods to understand the relationship between brain activity, behavior, and cognition and, based on these insights, develops new therapies for neurological disorders.

Your Personal Sphere Of Influence

Your tasks will in particular include the supervision and maintenance of the developed software toolboxes (version control and release management, code quality and maintenance, bug fixing, testing and quality assurance, documentation maintenance, support and training). Additional tasks, which you will share with another technician, include the further development and maintenance of the group’s internal IT infrastructure as well as supporting the team in experimental studies.

Your Future Tasks

  • Management of the RG Neuroinformatics software toolboxes (version control and release management, code quality and maintenance, bug fixing, testing and quality assurance, documentation maintenance, support and training)
  • Procurement and replenishment of hardware and software
  • Installation and support of hardware and software equipment, in particular PC workstations, printers, etc.
  • First-level support
  • Support in conducting experimental studies
  • Maintenance of the internet presence
  • Network administration

Additional responsibilities in the area of the shared IT infrastructure of the Faculty of Computer Science are to be taken on.

Your Profile

  • General or vocational secondary school (higher level)
  • Professional experience in system administration, support, development, management (or willingness to familiarize yourself with these areas)
  • Good spoken and written German and English skills
  • Very good knowledge of Linux, Windows, and macOS
  • Very good programming skills, e.g., in Python, Matlab, C/C++, or Java
  • Ability to work in a structured, goal-oriented, and independent manner
  • Experience working with research groups / ability to work in a team
  • Good knowledge of web programming
