Android Developer (IT) / Contractor

We our looking for someone who will gather business requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into simple but effective Android solutions, designing mobile user interfaces.

Your objective : developing Android applications to enhance mobile user experience for one of the biggest bank & insurance company in Europe.

This assignment is a full-time freelance contract, to be filled promptly.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be in charge of :

Understanding Business Needs & Project Requirements

  • Analyze the business requirements.
  • Gather specifications and requirements based on technical needs and translate them into reliable Kotlin code

Developing application

  • Design and build advanced hybrid applications for Android platforms
  • Create compelling mobile device specific user interfaces and experiences optimizing performance for the apps /web.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

Communicating About The Project

  • Attend client/team meetings during development process.
  • Communicate to the Project Manager with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays.
  • Engage in outside-the-box thinking to provide high value-of-service to clients.

Monitoring technology

  • Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in the mobile/web technologies.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Profil Candidat

Hard Skills

  • Proven development experience in desktop and mobile web development and test driven development (TDD)
  • Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines, DDD and best practices
  • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
  • Excellent knowledge in information architecture, human computer interaction and mobile usability design principles.
  • Proven knowledge of Java / Kotlin
  • Knowledge of Docker, Container and Groovy is an asset
  • Proven knowledge in jetpack compose and material 3 design
  • Proven knowledge in Android app development (different version of Android SDK and the libraries available for common tasks
  • Knowledge of SVN/Git (Gitlab or alternative), Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, Confluence, JIRA
  • Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services and 3rd-party libraries or API’s
  • Strong organisational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of  timelines and budgets
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum)
  • A good command of English, knowledge of one of the two national languages, trilingualism an asset.
