Machine Learning Specialist – 100% Remote (Portugal Based)

We are currently partnering with a leading client in the banking sector that is expanding its Artificial Intelligence Platform. They are looking for a Machine Learning Specialist to join their growing team and contribute to the development of scalable, ML-powered services.

This is a fully remote opportunity, with the requirement that the candidate is physically based in Portugal.

The Role

You will play a key role in designing and developing end-to-end machine learning pipelines — from data collection strategies to deploying inference services in production. You will help build scalable AI/ML frameworks and contribute to the evolution of ML products in a highly collaborative and innovation-driven environment.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong software engineering foundation and a genuine passion for building real-world ML solutions.

What You Will Bring

• Strong programming skills in Python and at least one OOP language (C# or Java)
• Experience with ML libraries such as TensorFlow or Scikit-Learn
• Solid understanding of the end-to-end ML lifecycle
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL databases, and big data technologies such as Spark
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure is a plus), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience building and consuming APIs (REST, gRPC, etc.)
• Strong Linux/Unix skills and experience with Git
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure services such as Databricks, CosmosDB, AKS, or Azure DevOps
• A GitHub or GitLab portfolio showcasing relevant projects
• Strong passion for AI/ML and continuous learning
