Business Analyst - Data Platforms

Your role

This role delivers full lifecycle data initiatives, from requirements analysis and architecture design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimisation. It captures and validates business and system requirements. The role leads discussions with stakeholders, maintains robust documentation, and supports the team in articulating requirements while also developing reports and dashboards to drive business insights.

You will play a key role in:

  • Capture, validate, and document business and system requirements ensuring alignment with strategic principles and enterprise standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend data formats and structures that enhance storage efficiency, scalability, and query performance for large datasets.
  • Lead stakeholder discussions on functional and technical design, covering components, frameworks, interfaces, and integration patterns.
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence assets including reports, dashboards, and metrics to enable data-driven decision‑making. Identify gaps in business processes, document improvement opportunities, and share findings to guide optimisation initiatives.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data/Software Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated background in business analysis and data analysis within data‑centric environments in banking or financial services sector as well as experience working with large datasets, data warehouses, or cloud‑based data ecosystems.
  • Ability to capture, analyse, and document complex business and system requirements.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and enterprise data architecture principles.
  • Expertise in facilitating technical and non‑technical stakeholder discussions.
  • Familiarity with requirement‑gathering frameworks (use cases, user journeys, epics/stories).
  • Familiarity with ETL tools like Azure Data Factory, Databricks etc.
