Embedded Software Engineer

An innovative European technology company is expanding its core engineering team and is looking to hire an Embedded DSP Software Engineer to work on real-time signal-processing algorithms deployed on constrained hardware platforms.

You will contribute to algorithm development, optimisation, and integration within embedded systems that operate under strict performance, latency, and power constraints.

The position is well-suited to engineers who enjoy working close to hardware, translating DSP theory into robust embedded code, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across firmware, systems, and product engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimise DSP algorithms for real-time embedded systems
• Develop embedded software in C/C++ for resource-constrained platforms
• Translate algorithm concepts into efficient, maintainable production code
• Optimise for performance, latency, memory usage, and power consumption
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and systems engineers to integrate solutions
• Debug, test, and validate algorithms on target hardware
• Support algorithm tuning and iteration based on real-world data and constraints

Requirements

• Commercial or equivalent experience (≥2 years) in embedded software development
• Strong C/C++ programming skills in an embedded or low-level environment
• Solid, hands-on DSP experience (e.g. filters, transforms, signal analysis, algorithm optimisation)
• Experience implementing DSP algorithms in real-time or near-real-time systems
• Understanding of performance constraints on embedded hardware (CPU, memory, power)
• Ability to work comfortably between theory and practical implementation
• Valid Austrian VISA

Nice to Have

• Experience specifically in audio DSP
• Familiarity with fixed-point arithmetic, SIMD, or hardware acceleration
• Exposure to testing, validation, or benchmarking of DSP systems
