Project Overview:
Orchestra is an advanced software solution designed to cater specifically to the needs of wetlab/drylab scientists working with complex in vitro models, such as organoids and iPSCs. By supporting the orchestration of laboratory instruments, enabling laboratory workflow automation, and ensuring reproducibility, Orchestra empowers scientists to conduct more efficient and accurate research. Its comprehensive capabilities, including powerful image analysis and robust data management, make it an invaluable tool for modern scientific research.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain user-friendly and responsive web UI in JavaScript/React/Apollo
- Construct and implement GraphQL schema
- Develop and maintain backend systems with Node.js
- Design and optimize SQL database schemas and queries for efficient data storage and retrieval
- Contribute code to other cloud based services written in Python
- Write and maintain robust suite of tests to ensure the functionality and integrity of the developed applications
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the global team to understand user needs and translate them into user-friendly and aesthetic user interfaces
- Collaborate closely with a team of scientists to build tools that assist in ground-breaking biology research
Qualifications:
- Provable track record of constructing quality, user-friendly tools in a fast-paced environment
- At least 5 years of proven experience with React
- At least 5 years of proven experience with Python and SQL
- Experience working on cloud-native architectures in public clouds (ideally AWS)
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with a diverse team of professionals
- Ability to quickly acquire new technologies and programming languages
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
-Experience with modern CI/CD platforms, GitLab or similar
- Experience with biological data and processes is a strong plus
- Knowledge of cell biology would be a big plus
- Experience working with scientists or in a research environment is advantageous
