Full Stack AI Engineer – Remote Contract

Join a fast-paced team developing AI-powered platforms that connect users with mentors and peers through shared experiences. As the technical owner of the entire technology stack, you will drive the architecture, development, and reliability of a cutting-edge platform. This full-time contract role is fully remote, operating in US time zones, and requires a deep understanding of both frontend and backend systems, as well as hands-on experience with large language models and AI tooling. You will collaborate closely with product leadership, founders, and customers, ensuring robust, scalable, and efficient solutions that leverage the latest in AI development practices.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the full technology stack, including frontend, backend, APIs, and cloud infrastructure
  • Oversee GCP/Vertex AI infrastructure, ensuring high availability and scalability
  • Build, maintain, and optimize internal agentic workflows and deployment pipelines
  • Review and approve code from contractors and AI-generated sources, upholding best practices and code quality
  • Integrate and manage LLM APIs and AI tooling to enhance platform capabilities
  • Develop and maintain clear technical documentation and specifications to support autonomous work by contractors and AI agents
  • Collaborate with product leads, founders, and customers to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Ensure production reliability, security, and performance across all systems
  • Drive continuous improvement through the adoption of AI development tools and automation

Skills And Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in full stack development, with strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Python
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with large language models (LLMs) and AI tooling
  • Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Vertex AI, and managing cloud-based infrastructure
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD workflows, deployment automation, and production monitoring
  • Demonstrated ability to own systems end-to-end, from architecture to deployment and maintenance
  • Experience integrating with LLM APIs and building agentic workflows
  • Strong code review skills, including reviewing AI-generated code
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities, enabling effective collaboration with distributed teams
  • Comfortable working independently and making technical decisions in a fast-moving environment
  • Availability to work remotely in US time zones
