About the role
A Network Engineer is required to support enterprise ICT operations across corporate and school environments. You will maintain network infrastructure, support data centre operations, and ensure secure and stable connectivity across a large, distributed environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administration, maintenance and support of enterprise network infrastructure
- Monitor and analyse ICT capacity including WAN bandwidth and core infrastructure
- Proactively monitor switching, routing and wireless services
- Troubleshoot incidents and perform fault diagnosis and remediation
- Support vulnerability management and network security practices
- Operate within ITIL frameworks including Change, Incident and Problem Management
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and technical documentation
- Provide mentoring and training to peers on technical processes
- Produce technical reports for team leaders and management
- Provide advanced operational support and initiate remedial action during service failures
- Support regional ICT teams, school representatives and operational stakeholders
- Maintain knowledge of emerging networking and communications technologies
Highly desirable criteria
- Strong experience with Cisco routing and switching including NX OS, IOS and IOS XE
- Experience with 3Com, H3C, HPE and Aruba switching platforms
- Experience supporting Cisco, HPE or Aruba wireless environments
- Experience administering AAA solutions including Aruba ClearPass
- Experience with HPE Intelligent Management Centre or Cisco Catalyst Centre
- Functional knowledge of firewall and load balancing technologies
- Experience working in a project delivery environment
Desirable criteria
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise or government environments
- Exposure to distributed networks across multiple sites
Skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience performing enterprise network operational tasks
- Strong troubleshooting and fault resolution capability
- Ability to monitor, analyse and optimise network capacity
- Experience supporting cyber security practices within a network team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and reports
- Ability to work within structured operational processes
- Available to commence at the requested start date
Mandatory requirements
- Willingness to participate in monitoring shift rotations
- Availability for rostered start and finish times during heightened operational periods
