- Driven by the demand for faster, 24/7 available and secured payments, payment industry is more and more considering blockchain oriented payment rails with the promise to deliver speed and transparency of payments while reducing the costs and complexities involved by the classical payment rails.
- Clientis one of the largest payment processors in Europe, it’s thus very crucial for the Group to pioneer in this DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) world. Hence the need to on board a talented functional analyst to reinforce our Brussels based team.
- Indeed, new and existing IT technologies are being developed and maintained out of Tribe International Payments in Brussels following the agile methodology. Our teams workin multi-cultural and empowered squads who deliver new functionalities and enhancements on a frequent basis.
- The mission of the Tribe International Payments is to grow as a reliable and costefficient payment service provider for customers of Clients worldwide, whilst implementing innovative technologies and payment products.
- As member of an international, multifunctional squad you participate to the analysis, design, development, integration, test and support of qualitative Payment’s products, solutions and services in Java technology.
- You identify the business requirements and maps out possible solutions that can be developed and integrated in the enterprise production environment.
- You investigate costs and benefits.
- You design the chosen solution in detail, defining exactly what it should look like, which data are involved, and which processes are supported.
Function description
During the preparation phase:
- Accompany the business analyst and client through the reflection towards a solution – propose alternative and adequate solutions in line with enterprise architecture and strategy, and considering cost/benefit.
- Ensure that the client understands and adopts enterprise rules and standards concerning architectural standards, security.
- Work together with the architects to set up the architecture.
- Close collaboration with business and product owner to refine the business requirements into functional and technical requirements via Features and User Stories.
- Relay between the client, business analyst and involved asset teams, coordination of the involved asset teams (unified view towards the client – ensure that all involved IT parties clearly understand the client needs)
During the elaboration phase:
- Functional elaboration of the chosen solution, translation of the business requirements in detailed functional & technical requirements & analyses for the developers and Test Engineers.
- Align with involved assets on the functional responsibilities each asset will need to implement
- Application design of the solution, identifying and detailing the impacts on the different application components as specified in the architecture
- Align with the different technical teams of the asset in order to specify each of their requirements
During the construction phase:
- Follow-up of development and testing to ensure coherence between the functional & technical specifications and the developed solution
- Provide the technical definitions of components that are supported by different teams
- Collaborate with other squads at Tribe International Payments and other Tribes.
- Support suppliers during the development and integration and assembly testing.
- Ensure together with the other squad members the implementation of APIs, maintenance and future improvements.
- Document the solutions.
- Assist the Test Engineer in test sets, creating test scenarios, analyse defects during test phase and solving complex defects.
- Support the release and deployment teams in the different environments.
Once the solution is installed in production, provide support to the operational entities and helpdesks. Analyse production incidents and coordinate their solution. Maintain the documentation accordingly.
In an agile context, preparation, elaboration and construction are sliced and combined in sprints.
Language requirements
Dutch: Basic, French: Mandatory, English: Mandatory
Education: Computer Science
Certification: Bachelor or master’s degree
Telework: Expectation: 50% on site & 50% homeworking

An analyst involved in Agile projects must have the "Agile mindset" which implies:

Beyond the roles: Agile teams are cross-functional. All required disciplines are represented in the team (analysis, development, testing, … ). However, although team members have a primary role representing a discipline, they are expected to take on other roles and contribute to other disciplines whenever it helps towards reaching the sprint goal.
Required experience / knowledge
At least 7 years of Functional Analyst experience
Technical experience: (Mandatory)
- Functional and technical knowledge of IT systems.
- Knowledge and experience in building Swagger APIs.
Business experience: (Mandatory)
- Knowledge and experience of banking and payment products.
- Experience in process analysis of payments requirements
- Knowledge of analysis methodology
- Specific requirement for agile: practical experience with Scrum (preferable)
