We are looking for Research Engineer to join KUIS AI who meet the following criteria:

About KUIS AI

Koç University İş Bank Artificial Intelligence Research Center (KUIS AI) was established in 2020 by a generous donation from İş Bank. With its 20 AI faculty, 32 affiliated faculty from the schools of engineering, medicine, and other fields, and around 100 graduate students, it has now become a leading research institute of Turkey in artificial intelligence research, education, and industrial collaboration.

KUIS AI Center is seeking research engineers to extend its research team that works on innovative and high-impact research projects on different domains of AI/ML/DL and conducts applied research on real-world problems.

Job Description and Responsibilities

• Work with the Directorate Office and AI faculty members to support academic/industrial projects of the Center

• Contribute to the preparations of research proposals of the Center to be submitted to national and international funding agencies

• Interact industrial partners to understand their needs and priorities

• Research, implement, and optimize state-of-the-art solutions

• Provide technical and software development support

• Attend meetings, technical events, and brainstorming sessions

• Undertake roles in technical and educational tasks of the Center

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related department from a reputable university

• Strong algorithmic thinking and computational skills in AI/ML/DL

• Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks

• Proven experience (e.g., an MS/PhD degree or a work experience) on at least one of the following domains: computer vision, language models, and/or data science.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Proficiency in C, C++ or Java is a plus
