Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a motivated Summer Intern to join our team in developing advanced automation and digital solutions. This internship provides hands-on experience in robotics, control systems, artificial intelligence, and human-machine interface (HMI) development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support engineering projects within automation, robotics, AI, and digital solutions
  • Assist in the design, testing, and validation of control systems and autonomous solutions
  • Contribute to software, algorithm, and HMI development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to solve technical challenges
  • Document work in accordance with company standards
  • Present project results and deliverables at the end of the internship
  • Comply with NOV policies, including HSE requirements

Site-Specific Responsibilities

  • Contribute to innovation-driven summer projects at the Kristiansand site, including development of autonomous robots, AI-based systems, and advanced control platforms

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybernetics, Mechatronics, Automation, Data Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong academic performance
  • Relevant academic or project experience in programming, robotics, control systems, or AI is an advantage

Requirements

  • Strong interest in technology and innovation
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English (Norwegian is a plus)
  • Available full-time during the summer between academic semesters
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Kristiansand for the internship period

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Programming experience (e.g., Python, C++, GO, MATLAB or similar)
  • Understanding of control systems and automation principles
  • Familiarity with robotics, AI, or machine learning concepts
  • Experience with 3D modeling or CAD tools is beneficial
