The IBM Client Innovation Centre CIC occupies a unique position in the IT marketplace – at the intersection of business and technology. In this role, you'll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

As An Associate Platform Engineer, You Will
- Support the design, build, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
- Assist in managing cloud infrastructure and platform services on Azure, AWS, or IBM Cloud.
- Work with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) development using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or ARM templates.
- Help monitor platform health, performance, and reliability using observability tools (logs, metrics, alerts).
- Assist in troubleshooting deployment issues, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with development teams to enable secure and efficient application delivery.
- Support platform security practices including access control, secrets management, and compliance standards.
- Participate in Agile delivery ceremonies, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Explore automation and AI-enabled operations approaches to improve platform efficiency (AIOps exposure).

Required technical and professional expertise
- Strong foundation in Linux/Unix fundamentals and command-line usage
- Proficiency in scripting or programming: Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Understanding of DevOps principles: Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery
- Automation-first mindset
- Collaboration between dev and ops teams
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI
- Experience with version control systems: Git/GitHub
- Cloud & Container Platforms
- Familiarity with cloud services on Azure/AWS/IBM Cloud (beginner to intermediate)
- Understanding of containers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift (nice-to-have), Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Awareness or hands-on exposure to IaC tools such as: Terraform, Ansible, Helm, CloudFormation
- Monitoring & Reliability
- Basic knowledge of monitoring/observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Dynatrace (any exposure)
- Familiarity with agile methods and scrum frameworks
- Awareness of AIOps concepts (AI for IT operations, anomaly detection, alert reduction)
- Familiarity with automation using AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, AI scripting support)
- Basic understanding of machine learning workflows and model deployment concepts
- Interest in platform support for AI/ML workloads, such as: GPU-based infrastructure
- ML pipeline enablement (MLflow awareness)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Effective communication and teamwork in cross-functional Agile environments
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn emerging tools/tech
- Critical thinking, resourcefulness, growth mindset
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and platforms
- Attention to detail, ownership, and commitment to quality delivery
