Senior Manager - Infrastructure (AWS)

A German Financial Services firm is looking for Senior IT Infra operation Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of infrastructure engineers, cloud, and operations specialists
  • Develop and execute the infrastructure strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and IT objectives
  • Provide hands-on guidance to the team on AWS best practices, design patterns, and cloud architecture
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of AWS cloud environments (EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, etc.)
  • Ensure systems are highly available, resilient, and scalable, and meet organizational SLAs
  • Perform cost optimization across the AWS infrastructure while maintaining performance and security standards
  • Ensure the infrastructure meets industry standards and complies with internal and external security, governance, and regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with the security team to enforce best practices for IAM, encryption, and other security protocols within AWS
  • Manage day-to-day operations of AWS-based infrastructure and ensure system uptime, performance, and capacity planning
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud-based infrastructure
  • Lead infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response, ensuring minimal downtime
  • Work closely with other IT teams, including DevOps, Development, and Security, to ensure the infrastructure supports the organization's objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate infrastructure needs into application development pipelines
  • Communicate regularly with senior leadership to report on project progress, issues, and strategy
  • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing infrastructure team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Conduct performance reviews and set clear goals for team members
  • Promote collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the infrastructure team

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience migration of infrastructure to cloud and overseeing cloud architecture, systems administration, and cloud networking in AWS
  • Extensive experience managing and optimizing AWS infrastructure
