Head of AI Operations

ESTO Group
Estonia ยท Full-time ยท Director

Join us to drive AI-powered automation across ESTO. As Head of AI Operations, you will be the bridge between our business departments and the AI tools and workflows that can fundamentally change how we operate. This is not a pure engineering role - it is a strategic operator who can talk to people, find where time is being wasted, and make it stop. You report directly to the CPO and have a mandate to reshape how ESTO works from the inside out.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and deploy AI automation workflows - independently research, evaluate, and implement AI tools (agents, LLM pipelines, no-code/low-code automation platforms) to eliminate or accelerate manual processes
  • Map operational bottlenecks - conduct structured discovery sessions with department leads across Marketing, Operations, Customer Support, Distribution, Collections, and others to identify where manual time is burned most
  • Own the AI automation roadmap - prioritise initiatives by ROI, track outcomes, and iterate; translate business problems into solvable AI use cases
  • Drive cross-department adoption - train and enable department teams to work with new tools; build internal processes so automation compounds over time
  • Stay sharp on the frontier - continuously monitor the AI tooling landscape; bring new capabilities to ESTO before competitors do
  • Build the function - as the first in this role, you will establish the playbook; over time, potentially grow and manage a small AI operations team

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: 3+ years in engineering, operations, product, or strategy roles with demonstrable hands-on experience deploying AI/automation tools in a business context
  • AI-native: deeply comfortable with LLM-based tools, AI agents, prompt engineering, and automation platforms (e.g. OpenClaw, Make, Zapier, n8n, or similar); not afraid to get into the weeds
  • Technical fluency (no software engineering required): can read API docs, set up integrations, work with data - but does not need to write production code
  • Strong communicator: able to interview department heads, extract signal from noise, and translate operational complexity into clear automation specs
  • Ownership mentality: self-directed, outcome-obsessed, moves fast and finishes things; comfortable with ambiguity in a role that is being built from scratch
  • Nice to have: background in fintech or financial services; experience building internal tools or AI agents; familiarity with data pipelines or CRM/support systems
