Job Description

The Head of Government Relations North Europe contributes to Nokia’s competitiveness in the region by developing and overseeing the execution of Nokia’s government and industry related advocacy strategy.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • The Head of Government Relations North Europe contributes to Nokia’s competitiveness in the region by developing and overseeing the execution of Nokia’s government and industry related advocacy strategy. The role is responsible to position Nokia as a trusted advisor to help shape policy and regulation to support a conducive business environment and Nokia’s business objectives. In addition, this role also works closely with the GGR HQ team and the Business Groups Leads and country management teams to create regional level strategies and vision.
  • The Head of GGR North Europe will be required to navigate the complex geopolitical environment and engage on issues of interest to the company such as spectrum regulation, security and cyber security, critical and emerging technology telecommunications and the digitization of industry, and intellectual property amongst others.
  • The Head of GGR North Europe is part of the Geopolitical and Government Relations Headquarters team and reports to the Deputy Chief Geopolitics and Government Relations Officer. The Head of GGR North Europe works closely with the North Europe Region leadership team and country management teams to align and contribute to the region’s business strategy.
  • The role will also seek and develop funding and financing opportunities as well as identify and manage opportunities for participation in industry panels, events and international business delegations.
  • The role works with a variety of Nokia functions.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of operational experience in government affairs, corporate affairs and/or senior level experience in complex geopolitical environment
  • Graduate education in public policy, government relations or law highly desirable
  • Extensive knowledge and proven history of working with government departments and ministries
  • Demonstrated experience influencing and leveraging relationships at a senior level to support business objectives
  • Ability to set and execute strategies aligned with business outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience with government processes including business case and funding development, issues management and parliamentary queries
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • The role requires the ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a complex environment where flexibility and influencing skills are essential.
  • Represent Nokia and its values when dealing with external audiences
