Security Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented IT Security Analyst with a focus on email security to join our client's cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be responsible for helping users protect their email communications, preventing phishing attacks, and ensuring that their email systems remain secure against unauthorized access.

Key Responsibilities:

• Email Security Support: Assist end users in configuring and maintaining secure email practices, including setting up multi-factor authentication (MFA), password management, and secure email transmission (e.g., S/MIME, PGP).
• Threat Detection & Response: Monitor and analyze email traffic for suspicious activity such as phishing, spam, malware, or spoofing attempts. Provide timely responses to potential security incidents involving email.
• User Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver training materials on email security best practices. Educate users on identifying phishing attacks, spotting suspicious email links/attachments, and maintaining overall email hygiene.
• Email Filtering and Protection Tools: Configure, maintain, and optimize email filtering solutions (e.g., anti-phishing, antispam, anti-malware) to block malicious email threats. Assist users with troubleshooting issues related to email security software.
• Incident Management: Investigate and remediate security incidents related to email, such as compromised accounts or data leaks. Work with IT and cybersecurity teams to implement corrective actions and prevent future occurrences.
• Policy Implementation & Compliance: Collaborate with the IT security team to enforce email security policies in line with industry standards and compliance requirements. Ensure that users are adhering to best practices and organizational guidelines. • Vulnerability Management: Regularly review email systems for vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for patching or improving security controls. Assist in the identification of risks related to email systems and work to mitigate them.
