About the Role

We are seeking a Tech Lead (Freelance) to drive the delivery of a mission-critical e-commerce platform for our client, a leading institution in the financial sector. This is a full-time, on-site contract role based in Luxembourg, running for 6 months. You will architect, lead, and deliver a secure, fully integrated purchasing journey that will power the sale of numismatic products, ensuring robust integration with external systems and compliance with the highest standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Define and own the target architecture for the Drupal 11-based e-commerce platform.
• Establish and enforce development conventions for custom modules, services, events, logging, and configuration.
• Deliver core e-commerce features: product catalogue, shopping cart, checkout workflow, and order management.
• Lead the integration of external systems, including ERP (WIGES) for catalogue, stock, and customer data, and SaferPay for secure payment processing.
• Implement and supervise critical backend modules, ensuring production-ready synchronization and secure transaction flows.
• Define and manage branching strategy, code review processes, and quality standards.
• Coordinate end-to-end testing, observability, and CI checks before merge.
• Drive GDPR compliance, accessibility, and robust documentation for seamless handover to internal teams.
• Lead knowledge transfer sessions and ensure maintainability post-delivery.
• Work iteratively in Agile sprints, with regular demos and a prioritized backlog.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven expertise in Drupal (version 11), PHP (8.3), JavaScript, CSS, and Git.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex e-commerce implementations, including payment gateway integrations (SaferPay, Stripe, Adyen, etc.).
• Strong background in integrating ERP systems (preferably WIGES) and handling data synchronization, error handling, and retry logic.
• Deep understanding of secure transaction flows, GDPR, and accessibility requirements.
• Experience with Pantheon hosting environments (DEV/TEST/LIVE).
• Ownership mindset: you lead by example, drive outcomes, and ensure quality at every stage.
• Recent experience as a Senior Full-Stack Architect or equivalent (within the last 1–3 years).
• Fluency in French (native/bilingual required) and professional proficiency in English.
• Availability for full-time, on-site work in Luxembourg for the entire project duration.

• Strict alignment with required skills, experience, and language proficiency.
• Ability to provide ID, diploma, work permit (if non-EU), and sign an NDA if selected.
• Clear declaration of candidate status (employee, freelance, or subcontractor).
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (sprints, demos, backlog management).

• French: Native / Bilingual (mandatory)
• English: Professional level

• Deliver a maintainable, production-ready platform that can be seamlessly handed over to internal teams.
• Champion best practices in security, compliance, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
