Hexagon Robotics is a division of Hexagon – a global leader in precision measurement. The division develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and accelerate the transition from automation to autonomy. Our first humanoid, AEON, was launched in June 2025 and is already in pilots with five customers.
As a Software Engineer for Simulation Tooling you directly work on the simulation software s used by our robotics and product development teams. You closely interact with experts in individual robotics domains (control, vision, manipulation, ...) to drive the simulation setup forward and accommodate their requests.
Your Mission
- Take charge of developing and integrating our simulation environment
- Develop Python code on Linux and work with simulation engines such as Nvidia Omniverse / Isaac Sim or Gazebo
- Navigate complex system integrations across multiple technology stacks to enhance the simulation platform
- Work independently and drive your roadmap through close engagement with simulation users
- Evaluate when to implement solutions yourself and when to collaborate with third-party vendors to improve the platform
- Deliver reliable software through code reviews, continuous integration, and automated testing
- Thrive in a startup-like environment within a global company, with flat hierarchies and high personal impact
Your Skillset
- Degree in Computer Science or a similar degree with focus on numerical computation or simulations
- Very proficient in Python, 5+ years of professional experience in a technically complex Linux environment and understanding not only how to write Python code but also how to package and deploy it in cloud-based environments.
- Experience with game or simulation engines and related tooling (preferably Nvidia Omniverse / Isaac Sim, alternatively Unreal, Unity, Gazebo) and familiar with typical tasks when working with 3D assets (OpenUSD, URDF and mesh file manipulation)
- Self-Driven Communicator: Beyond your technical skills, your self-motivation and excellent communication abilities stand out. You're at home brainstorming and collaborating with robotics or DevOps experts and driving your projects forward.
- You are fluent in English.
- You bring a startup mindset to work iterative with focus on usable solutions for the end user.
