Application Support Engineer - .NET

Role and Responsibilities

What is the opportunity?
Join our Application Maintenance team to provide critical application support and infrastructure expertise for our enterprise application portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting .NET-based applications and their underlying infrastructure while contributing to strategic platform modernization initiatives. You will work closely with development teams, infrastructure specialists, and business stakeholders to ensure application reliability, performance, and successful technology transitions.

What will you do?
• Provide tier 2/3 application support for .NET applications including troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root cause analysis
• Participate in Windows Server platform modernization and migration initiatives
• Migrate, manage and support Windows Server environments hosting IIS web applications and MSSQL databases
• Monitor application performance, analyze logs, and proactively identify potential issues
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve application defects and implement enhancements
• Document support procedures, runbooks, and technical configurations
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application stability and supportability

What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
• Extensive hands-on experience supporting .NET applications in enterprise environments
• Strong expertise with IIS (Internet Information Services) configuration, troubleshooting, and administration
• Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server including query optimization, performance tuning, and database administration fundamentals
• Proven experience with Windows Server environments (2012, 2016, 2019, or newer)
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose complex technical issues
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Dynatrace, ELK, Grafana)
• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks
• Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Windows Server migration projects and platform upgrades
• Experience with cloud platforms (OpenShift preferred)
• Understanding of ITIL practices and incident/change management processes
