Assistant Cyber Security Analyst, Temporary opportunity until end June 2027, based in Sydney CBD + hybrid working options available

The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is searching for a enthusiastic and motivated individual with experience in IT or Cyber Security to join our growing team as an Assistant Cyber Security Analyst. This role is a temporary opportunity until 30 June 2027, with the possibility of extension. In this position, you'll work with a supportive team to strengthen and protect our technology environment through proactive security measures and platform management. You'll have the opportunity to grow your cyber security skills and play a key role in keeping our systems safe.

Benefits

  • Fantastic 5/6 position in a technical team supporting a variety of enterprise security tools and platforms
  • Temporary opportunity until end June 2027, with the possibility to extend or make ongoing
  • Salary range: $99,938 - $110,271 + super, commensurate with experience.
  • Excellent leave entitlements: 20 days annual leave, up to additional 24 days flexible leave.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and actioning security reports, alerts, and related inputs
  • Contribute to the resolution of technical risks and issues
  • Assisting in the implementation of systems and processes that are fit for purpose
  • Monitoring and responding to queries, providing timely advice to stakeholders
  • Supporting continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance security processes, tools, and controls

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Have Hands-on IT or Cyber Security Experience: You've successfully worked in the field and are comfortable with practical problem-solving, platform management and IT processes.
  • Be Keen and Enthusiastic: You bring energy, curiosity, and a drive to learn about emerging security trends and technologies.
