DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team and contribute to the automation, validation, and optimization of our infrastructure-as-code (IaC) workflows. The project focuses on enhancing our CI/CD ecosystem by developing custom validators and automated tests to ensure the reliability of our deployment configurations.

Requirements

Primary Skills (Must Have):

• CI/CD & Version Control: GitLab (including UI, repo management, and configurations)
• Programming: Golang or Python

Secondary Skills:

• Kubernetes: Working knowledge of pods, jobs, deployments, and other K8s concepts.
• Linux: Ability to use common tools (grep, sed, awk) to validate file content.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
• Advanced knowledge of Git operations beyond general usage.
• Bazel

Job responsibilities

Kubernetes Validation: Work within our ecosystem using knowledge of pods, jobs, and deployments. Write validators for Kubernetes resources defined as YAML files.

GitLab & CI/CD: Create and manage presubmit tests to be run within a GitLab deployment. Use the GitLab UI and manage GitLab configurations to develop and test deliverables.

Git Operations: Perform hands-on Git operations, including cloning repos, creating commits, and pushing commits. Create GitLab merge requests as part of the development lifecycle.

Scripting & Automation: Write scripts using Bash or Python to invoke Linux commands and validate the content of YAML files inside the Git repo.

Text Parsing: Use Linux text-parsing tools, including yq, grep, sed, and awk, to parse and process YAML configurations.
