System Engineer - Aerospace & Defence

agap2 is a European engineering services company founded in 2005 and specialized in the industry. We work in the Railway, Aviation, Aerospace, Semiconductors, Chemicals, Infrastructure, Transportation, and Information Technology sectors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead system-level engineering activities for aerospace and defence programmes, including new platform development, modernization, and upgrade projects — from concept definition through validation and deployment.
  • Act as the primary technical interface coordinating multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, avionics, software, integration, and verification domains.
  • Facilitate collaboration between internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners while ensuring compliance with technical, quality, and security standards.
  • Translate customer, operational, and regulatory requirements into structured engineering specifications and ensure traceability throughout the lifecycle.
  • Conduct technical analyses including reliability studies, trade-offs, risk assessments, safety analyses, and change impact evaluations to support design decisions.
  • Manage preparation and review of technical documentation such as system architecture descriptions, interface control documents, verification plans, and certification packages.
  • Participate in integration, verification, and validation activities, ensuring system performance and compliance with applicable standards and mission requirements.


Education & Professional Experience:

  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline (BSc/MSc or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in aerospace, defence, avionics, or complex safety-critical systems engineering.
  • Proven experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong familiarity with applicable industry standards, certification frameworks, and regulatory environments (e.g., airworthiness, defence compliance, safety standards).
  • Experience with requirements management, system modelling, or MBSE tools is considered an advantage.

  • Structured and analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and results-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical domains and organizational levels.
  • Ability to operate in high-security, high-reliability project environments.
  • Proficiency in English required; additional languages such as German or French are an asset.
