Role: Project Manager

Why Join Us

  • Work with one of our clients in the interactive entertainment industry on high-visibility gaming initiatives
  • Lead large-scale, end-to-end game development programs with real impact from concept to launch
  • Competitive contract compensation aligned to market for senior delivery leaders
  • Hybrid flexibility in New York City—collaborative onsite time with focused remote productivity
  • Exposure to modern gaming production environments including cutting-edge tools, workflows, and pipelines
  • Fast-paced, innovation-driven culture with cross-functional teams and executive visibility

About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager (Gaming) with 12+ years of project/program delivery experience and strong exposure to the gaming or interactive entertainment industry. This is a contract opportunity for a delivery leader who understands the full game development lifecycle and excels at coordinating multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, design, art, QA, and production in a hybrid environment.

In this role, you will own delivery from early planning through release—driving clarity across scope, schedule, resources, risks, and dependencies. You’ll partner closely with leadership and stakeholders to ensure initiatives are delivered predictably while supporting continuous improvement across processes and team execution. If you thrive in a fast-moving environment and know how to balance creative iteration with structured delivery, this role is built for you.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Lead end-to-end game development initiatives from concept, planning, and execution through launch and post-release support
  • Build and maintain integrated project plans, including milestones, sprint schedules, resourcing, capacity, and critical path tracking
  • Own scope, timeline, and budget management, ensuring delivery commitments are met and changes are controlled transparently
  • Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog refinement) and ensure sprint goals and deliverables are achieved
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, design, art, QA, production, and supporting functions to remove blockers and align dependencies
  • Provide executive-level reporting, status dashboards, and risk/issue tracking with clear action plans and decisions required
  • Proactively identify risks, constraints, and delivery challenges; implement mitigation strategies and escalation paths when needed
  • Drive process improvements and operational rigor to increase development efficiency, predictability, and product quality
  • Manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously while maintaining stakeholder confidence and team momentum

What We’re Looking For (Required Qualifications)

Domain

  • Proven experience in the gaming or interactive entertainment industry
  • Strong understanding of the full game development lifecycle (pre-production through release)

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex dependency networks
  • Strong stakeholder management: confident communication with executive leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Excellent risk management, issue resolution, negotiation, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to deliver under ambiguity while balancing creative iteration with delivery discipline

Experience

  • 12+ years of Project Management (or Program/Delivery Management) experience
  • Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative delivery models
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar project management tools
  • Proven success managing multiple concurrent initiatives with tight timelines and high visibility

Nice To Have (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience with AAA, console, or mobile game production environments
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine (workflow awareness is sufficient; hands-on is a plus)
  • Certifications such as PMP, CSM, or equivalent
  • Experience working with distributed development teams across time zones and regions

If you’re a delivery-focused leader who understands the realities of game development and can bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex initiatives, we’d like to hear from you.
