Senior Software Engineer - AI Startup (Dublin, On-Site)

We are partnered with a venture-backed AI company in Dublin that is moving quickly from early traction into build mode after a successful funding round.

They are now making their first key engineering hire outside the founding team.

This is not another backend role inside a large organisation. This is a genuine founding-level opportunity to shape the core platform, architecture, and engineering culture from day one.

You will work directly with the founders, own meaningful technical decisions, and see your work running in production with real users.

What You'll Be Building

The focus is a production-grade AI platform. This is engineering-led work, not pure research.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering the systems that power live AI workflows at scale, including:

• Core backend services and APIs in a Python-first environment

• Event-driven and real-time processing pipelines

• Distributed services coordinating data, decisions, and actions

• Integrations with external and customer platforms

• Observability, reliability, and fault-tolerant system design

• Architectural decisions alongside the founders

• Engineering standards and best practice as the team grows

This is full lifecycle ownership. You build it, ship it, and run it.

What They're Looking For

This will suit an experienced, product-minded engineer who enjoys autonomy and technical ownership.

Strong candidates will typically have:

• Proven experience building production backend systems

• Strong fundamentals in software engineering and system design

• Experience designing APIs and distributed services

• Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

• A bias toward shipping and solving real problems

• Interest in working closely with founders and product

Nice to have:

• Exposure to AI or LLM-powered systems

• Experience in Python and modern frontend frameworks such as React

• Side projects or evidence of builder mentality

Compensation: Up to 130k base plus equity
