About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled HVAC Controls Engineer to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and developing submittal packages and owner’s manuals for Building Automation Systems (BAS). Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that system designs meet performance, operational, and client expectations. You will work closely with sales teams, project managers, and technicians throughout the project lifecycle, providing technical support and ensuring seamless integration of control systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative building automation projects that promote energy efficiency and operational excellence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills, with a problem-solving mindset and keen attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential, as the role involves collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders. Candidates should possess the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and adapt to changing project needs effectively. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check are required. Nice-to-have qualifications include over one year of experience in HVAC, electrical systems, PLCs, or building automation, along with an associate degree in HVAC, Electrical, Drafting, or Engineering (or equivalent technical education). Experience with Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Microsoft Visio, and Adobe Illustrator are also advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design DDC control panels, wiring schematics, and system interfaces to control HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Develop sequences of operation and system layouts tailored to project specifications.
• Create electrical wiring diagrams and floorplan graphics for user interfaces.
• Select appropriate control system components and compile project bill of materials (BOM).
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Control Technicians to prepare submittal packages and owner’s manuals.
• Review contract plans, specifications, and budgets with project stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Provide comprehensive documentation support to contractors and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate project schedules and provide regular updates to internal teams to ensure milestones are met.
• Ensure all documentation complies with project deadlines, quality standards, and industry regulations.
