About The Role

We are seeking an experienced iOS Developer to join our team on a temporary basis, working on high-impact mobile applications used by millions of users worldwide. This role is based in Burgess Hill, UK, with a hybrid work model requiring three days in the office per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated iOS applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of usability, performance, and stability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including designers, product owners, QA, and backend engineers in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for creating beautiful, user-centric mobile experiences and have a proven track record of delivering complex iOS solutions in a professional setting.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in iOS development, demonstrating proficiency in Swift and Objective-C. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is required. You should have a strong understanding of modern software development methodologies and experience working with REST APIs, RAML documentation, and integrating with bespoke backend services. Familiarity with build tools such as Tuist, xcodebuild, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Circle CI is essential. Additionally, experience in performance analysis, bug fixing, unit and integration testing, and working within globally distributed teams is highly desirable. Candidates should be self-motivated, excellent at time management, and capable of designing solutions for open-ended problems in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include developing and enhancing iOS applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness. You will write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices and coding standards. The role involves building and maintaining build tools such as Tuist and xcodebuild, implementing continuous integration workflows, and managing version control with GitHub. You will be tasked with debugging and resolving technical issues, optimizing app performance, and conducting thorough testing using XCTest and XCUITest frameworks. Collaborating with designers, product managers, and backend teams to translate requirements into functional features is key. Additionally, you will contribute to architectural decisions, participate in code reviews, and help improve development processes to ensure quality and efficiency. Your expertise will be vital in integrating complex backend services and designing innovative solutions for challenging problems.
