The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on Playwright Automation Engineer to join one of our key enterprise clients in Melbourne.

This role is suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced agile environments, enjoys building scalable automation frameworks, and takes ownership of quality outcomes across UI and API layers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright
• Develop automation scripts using TypeScript or JavaScript
• Work across UI, API, and integration layers
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions)
• Collaborate closely with Developers, BAs, and Product teams
• Perform root cause analysis and drive defect resolution
• Contribute to test strategy and shift-left testing initiatives

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in Test Automation / Quality Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright
• Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript
• Experience testing modern web applications
• API testing experience (REST, payload validation)
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
• Strong Agile experience
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience in retail or high-traffic digital platforms
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Exposure to performance testing tools
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
