About The Job

As a Senior Product Minded Engineer, you’ll be a key member of our agile development squad, building and evolving the Sokos Hotels mobile apps and related digital services used by the majority of Finland. Your work will shape the experience of hundreds of thousands of hotel guests.

You’ll design, build, and test complex applications and integrations, with opportunities to contribute to backend development and architectural planning. We strive for continuous delivery, high observability and data-driven decision.

Your daily tasks include:

• Focus on mobile development with React Native
• Design and develop products
• Analyse, plan, and refine product development work
• Collaborate closely with UX designers to deliver exceptional customer experiences
• Ensure product quality with proactive planning and testing
• Monitor performance and learn from customer behaviour (e.g., A/B testing, observability, operations)
• Contribute to team growth through code reviews, pair/mob programming, retrospectives, workshops, and mentoring
• Help the whole team to be “a little better every day”
  
  

What we’re looking for?

You’re a product-minded engineer with a passion for mobile development. You have strong experience building React native applications and creating products which customers love. You’re curious, analytical, and a clear communicator in English. You thrive in collaborative environments and bring an eye for detail and problem-solving.

Your experience:  

• Product engineer mindset
• Leadership capabilities in mobile development
• Strong experience in React and React Native
• Hands-on experience building beautiful UX (e.g. CSS)
• Familiarity with typescript
• Familiarity with APIs (GraphQL)
• Solid testing skills, human-centric and automated
• Experience with databases such as DynamoDB and PostgreSQL
• Cloud experience (preferably AWS) for deploying, debugging, and maintaining software
• Understanding of CI/CD tooling, including Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
• Keen interest in AI and capability to utilise it with the team
  
  

Seen as advantage

• Experience with event-driven architecture is a plus (e.g., Kafka, AWS SQS)
• Previous experience working with hospitality or hotel business domain related services
