DevOps Engineer (80-100%)

m/f/d, Zürich


For our client in the telecommunications sector in Zürich, we are looking for a dynamic and motivated DevOps Engineer (Professional).


Become part of an agile DevOps team and actively contribute to the development, integration, and operation of modern software solutions. You will take responsibility for backlog items, ensure quality and security, and continuously develop your DevOps skills.


Your tasks:

  • Independent implementation of simple backlog items as well as items focused on your area of expertise
  • Creating and refining backlog items together with the Product Owner
  • Estimating and planning backlog items for upcoming iterations within the team
  • Ensuring built‑in quality and built‑in security in all developments
  • Designing, implementing, configuring, and continuously improving (refactoring) software solutions
  • Designing, executing, and automating tests, as well as building, maintaining, and operating automation frameworks
  • Integrating software according to the deployment concept and developing monitoring mechanisms
  • Operating, measuring, and continuously improving software solutions
  • Handling incidents and service requests, as well as taking on 2nd- and 3rd-level support, including on-call duties


Your profile:

  • Education in computer science (FH/HF/EFZ) or equivalent professional experience
  • Basic-level knowledge in software engineering and DevOps concepts, as well as an understanding of agile and lean working methods
  • Experience working with backend/agent applications on Windows or Linux servers
  • Ability to implement and operate infrastructure components (network, storage, virtualization)
  • Confident handling of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash or Python (e.g., for API usage)
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Artifactory, Ansible, Docker, Git, Jira
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes (Deployment, Change, Incident, Problem Management)
  • Experience in rollouts, migrations, and collaboration with various technical teams
  • Strong communication skills when working with internal OS teams
  • High flexibility, growth mindset, and a pronounced hands‑on mentality
  • Ability to break down complex systems into simple subsystems (exceptions, excludes, etc.)
  • Fluent in English required; German skills are an advantage
