Brand Designer - Remote

Club Cali is seeking a talented graphic designer to craft a distinctive brand identity for a premium ghost kitchen and catering service inspired by California deli culture. The project centers on developing a retro-modern, California-cool aesthetic that is both fresh and artisanal, while conveying reliability and creativity. The brand identity will be applied across compostable packaging, delivery vehicles, and digital platforms, targeting film production crews and local professionals who value both quality and originality. The ideal designer will have a strong command of typography and a keen eye for visual storytelling, able to translate the soul of California’s iconic delis into a cohesive, memorable brand presence.

Deliverables

• Design a primary logo featuring the slogan "Sandwiches for Friends"
• Create a simplified, stamp-style mark suitable for stickers and social media
• Develop a cohesive typographic system reflecting a retro-modern, California-inspired aesthetic
• Provide brand assets optimized for use on compostable packaging, delivery vehicles, and digital platforms
• Deliver final files in multiple formats for print and digital use
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience in brand identity design, preferably for food, hospitality, or lifestyle brands
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in logo design, typography, and visual systems
• Ability to interpret and translate brand values into compelling visual concepts
• Familiarity with retro and modern design trends, especially those inspired by California culture
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or equivalent design tools
• Excellent communication skills and ability to incorporate feedback
• Availability for project-based work with potential for future collaboration
• Based in or familiar with Wellington, New Zealand, is a plus but not required
