Senior Manual Test Engineer (with strong Mobile experience)

Build the next generation of digital banking for 18M users. We are looking for a Senior General QA, focused mainly on manual mobile testing with solid automation knowledge. You will ensure the quality of customer-facing changes for a leading Ukrainian bank, validating mobile functionality end-to-end across mobile and web applications, APIs, and integrations. The platform is powered by an enterprise-grade, AWS-based, service-oriented backend with multiple databases and complex integrations—requiring strong attention to reliability, security, performance, and high availability. Project Overview:

This project is focused on evolving an enterprise-grade digital banking platform for a leading Ukrainian bank serving ~18 million customers. The ecosystem includes a customer-facing mobile application and web channels, supported by a service-oriented backend running on AWS with modern technologies and native managed services.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance (2+ years of commercial experience in mobile application testing)
• Understanding of key QA metrics, interpreting and analysing them to identify areas for improvement
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining traceability matrixes and testing guidelines to ensure accurate and consistent testing outcomes
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug and diagnose problems that arise during testing of the software on the target platform (WEB/Desktop/Mobile/Embedded)
• Understanding of Android and iOS platforms (AOS/iOS), including device-level troubleshooting.
• Understanding of mobile OS architecture and platform-specific behaviors; ability to explain and apply platform differences in testing strategy.
• High-level mobile testing expertise: strong understanding of mobile-specific testing approaches, risks, and quality criteria (app lifecycle, background/foreground behavior, permissions, notifications, network variability, device fragmentation, OS versions), understanding of Android and iOS platforms (AOS/iOS)
• Practical experience with device-level troubleshooting and advanced testing setups: ADB usage (Android) and working with device logs (e.g., logcat, crash logs); OS-level testing configurations (e.g., limiting background processes, power/battery constraints, network constraints, developer options)
• Strong skills in traffic analysis and debugging: Experience with sniffers/proxy tools such as Charles, Proxyman, Fiddler (or equivalents); Ability to capture, analyze, and validate network requests/responses and troubleshoot issues
• Hands-on experience with at Test management tools
• Solid practical experience in testing APIs using Postman, Swagger, DevTools; clear understanding of REST and client–server architecture principles.
• Experience with traffic/proxy and debugging tools: Proxyman, Fiddler (or equivalents).
• Knowledge of version control systems and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools, Linux CLI
• Knowledge of SQL and the ability to write queries to verify data in the application
• Knowledge of test management tools and ability to maintain traceability matrices and testing guidelines.
• Hands-on automation experience: tools such as Appium, TestNG, Selenide and programming languages Java and/or Kotlin.

• Practice experience with noSQL
• Experience with at least one common DBs (Apache CouchDB, Couchbase, MongoDB, etc.)
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP services
• Ability to apply test design techniques in practice (equivalence partitioning, boundary values, decision tables, state transition, pairwise, exploratory), ideally with real product examples (e.g., banking flows).

Responsibilities:

·Test mobile application and web solutions (with mobile as the priority).

·Contribute to test strategy based on identified customer quality expectations and plan testing activities

· Design test scenarios for features with any level of complexity and involve all relevant testing types to ensure comprehensive and accurate testing

· Actively apply experience-based and complex requirements-based test design techniques

· Set up software quality and testing process quality metrics

· Identify project and product quality risks, monitor, control them, and build response strategies

· Estimate the time and effort required for test execution, considering factors such as project complexity, scope, and resources availability

· Execute testing activities using relevant tools to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of testing
