We’ll need you to bring

• Proficiency in Backend Development: 3+ years of hands-on experience in NodeJS and Python, demonstrating the ability to design, develop, and maintain complex backend systems and APIs.
• Database Management: Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design, query optimisation, and data modelling, as well as familiarity with NoSQL databases like Redis for caching and data storage.
• Cloud Computing Platforms: Proficiency in deploying, managing, and optimising cloud infrastructure on platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudWatch.
• Web Servers and Proxies: Knowledge of configuring and optimising web servers like NGINX for load balancing, reverse proxying, and caching, to enhance the performance and security of web applications and APIs.
• Asynchronous Programming and Messaging: Experience with asynchronous programming techniques and message queuing systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka, for handling background tasks, event-driven processing, and inter-service communication.
• Security Best Practices: Understanding of security principles and best practices, including encryption, access controls, authentication, and authorisation, to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Version Control Systems: Proficiency in using version control systems like Git for code management, collaboration, and deployment, including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts effectively.
• DevOps and Automation Tools: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for automating deployment, testing, and monitoring processes, such as CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex backend issues efficiently, utilising debugging tools, log analysis, and performance monitoring solutions.
