As one of Europe’s largest payment processors, BNP Paribas is pioneering innovative blockchain-based payment solutions within its Tribe International Payments in Brussels.

We are seeking an experienced IT Functional Analyst – Expert to join an agile, multicultural squad delivering next-generation payment products and solutions.

Role Overview

As a senior Functional Analyst, you will act as the bridge between business and IT, translating complex banking and payments requirements into high-quality functional and technical specifications.

You will participate across the full lifecycle — from preparation and solution design to development follow-up, testing, deployment, and production support — within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation Phase

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to shape optimal solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and strategy.
• Propose cost-effective and compliant alternatives considering security and architectural standards.
• Work closely with architects to define target architecture.
• Refine business requirements into Features and User Stories with Product Owners.
• Coordinate across asset teams ensuring unified communication toward stakeholders.

Elaboration Phase

• Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Perform application impact analysis across components.
• Define responsibilities across involved IT assets.
• Align with technical teams to formalize system requirements.

Construction Phase

• Ensure alignment between specifications and developed solutions.
• Support development, API implementation, integration, and testing.
• Assist Test Engineers with test scenarios, defect analysis, and resolution.
• Collaborate across squads within International Payments and other group entities.
• Support suppliers during integration and assembly testing.
• Document functional and technical designs.
• Support release and deployment activities.

Post-Production Support

• Provide functional support to operations and helpdesks.
• Analyze and coordinate resolution of production incidents.
• Maintain and update documentation accordingly.

Required Experience & Technical Skills

Mandatory

• Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst
• Strong functional & technical knowledge of IT systems
• Experience building and documenting Swagger APIs
• Solid knowledge of banking and payment products
• Experience in payment process analysis
• Knowledge of analysis methodologies
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles
• Practical experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)

• French – Mandatory

• Dutch – Basic knowledge
