Our open-source Python SDK runs 1,000,000+ times per month, it is in production at 70+ companies, we reached 12k+ GitHub stars and hit GitHub trending several times. 

We recently raised a $7.5m seed round from Pebblebed Ventures in San Francisco, founded by the founding engineers of OpenAI and the Facebook AI Research Lab. We are now transitioning into a period of high growth and are looking for someone to create the vision we have for our customers starting with their first interaction with our website and cloud application. You’ll join a small, driven group of people who work closely together, support each other, and work towards the shared goal of building a generational AI infrastructure company. 

Role Overview

The Frontend Developer supports Cognee’s design, product and growth teams and is responsible for user experience, usability engineering, industrial and graphical UI design, localization as well as UI engineering. Given the abstract nature of our product, your job will be to create easy to understand visualisations for our website as well as cloud solutions. By actively shaping our cloud platform, you will take active responsibility in the user experience of our customers and actively shape the success of Cognee. It is an ideal role for someone who enjoys creative development, ownership and impact in a fast-paced startup environment. 

What you’ll do:

1. Own the SaaS Frontend

• Develop and maintain the frontend of our cloud platform
• Implement new features end-to-end
• Integrate backend APIs and services
• Ensure performance, scalability, and clean architecture
• Manage state, routing, authentication, and API flows
• Improve UX based on product feedback and usage patterns

2. Close Collaboration with the Backend Team

• Connect frontend components to APIs and services
• Collaborate with backend engineers on contracts and data structures
• Handle error states, loading flows, and edge cases cleanly
• Ensure secure handling of API keys, tokens, and sessions

3. Own the Website Frontend

• Maintain and improve our marketing website
• Integrate animations, videos, and visual assets
• Ensure design consistency between product and website
• Optimize performance and SEO fundamentals

4. Contribute to Product & Design

• Provide UI/UX input early in feature planning
• Translate product requirements into structured frontend architecture
• Improve design systems and component libraries
• Maintain a clean, scalable frontend structure

Here is what we’d like you to bring to the table:

• 7+ years of experience with modern frontend frameworks (React or similar)  
• Experience working with SaaS dashboards and deployments is an advantage
• Solid understanding of:
• REST or GraphQL APIs, State management, Authentication flows, Performance optimisation
• Strong sense for UI structure and interaction design  
• Foundational understanding of AI and AI Memory
• Ability to independently own and structure frontend architecture  
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
