Senior IT Network Specialist

About the Role
As a Senior IT Network Specialist, you are a key member of the Agile Network Product Team within the ICT Core domain. In a DevOps-driven environment, you contribute to delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing network solutions across more than 50 global offices, including the headquarters in the Netherlands.
Your Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities (Concise Overview)
- Co-own and drive the network product roadmap together with the Product Owner and Product Architect
- Design and implement network-related epics and features within the Agile Release Train (ART)
- Review and refine high- and low-level network architectures
- Ensure compliance with Zero-Trust principles, NIS2, and ISO27001 standards
- Lead complex network changes and resolve critical incidents
- Act as technical escalation point for advanced network issues
- Translate business requirements into secure and scalable network solutions
- Collaborate with vendors on technical designs and complex troubleshooting
- Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWX Ansible, Python, and CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure knowledge transfer and documentation towards first- and second-line support teams
- Contribute actively to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and other agile ceremonies
Technology Environment
You will work in a modern enterprise networking environment including:
- Aruba CX (switching, routing, EVPN, VXLAN, BGP)
- Aruba Wireless & ClearPass
- Check Point firewalls
- F5 Application Delivery Controllers
- WAN technologies (Internet, IPsec VPN, SD-WAN)
- Automation tooling such as NetBox, AWX Ansible, Terraform, and Python
Your Profile
You are a senior networking professional with a strong balance between technical depth, architectural thinking, and stakeholder engagement.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise networking environments
- Proven hands-on expertise in routing, switching, WAN, firewalling, and secure network design
- Strong understanding of Zero-Trust architectures and security compliance frameworks (NIS2, ISO27001)
- Experience designing scalable global network infrastructures across multiple sites
- Solid experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code
- Comfortable working in Agile and DevOps environments within product-oriented teams
