About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Android Engineer to join our dynamic software development team in Toronto. In this role, you will lead the technical design, architecture, and development of innovative Android applications that enhance our customers’ financial experiences. You will motivate, manage, and inspire a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure mobile solutions that align with our strategic objectives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience developing native Android applications using Java or Kotlin. You should have a strong background in application and data design, architecture, and development, with proven expertise in modern Android development tools and frameworks. A bachelor’s, master’s, or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Additionally, experience with RxJava, Coroutines, Dagger, Espresso, Junit, and Jenkins is essential. Candidates should also have demonstrated mentorship abilities, guiding junior and intermediate associates and collaborating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical design, architecture, and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems that serve our customers effectively.
• Collaborate closely with the mobile development team throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle, from planning to deployment and maintenance.
• Enhance software engineering practices by working within agile teams to design, develop, test, and implement technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies.
• Provide expertise on how evolving technologies impact our domain, ensuring that our products remain innovative and competitive.
• Mentor junior, intermediate, and senior mobile associates, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high standards of technical excellence.
