About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PHP Engineer / Senior Web Developer to join our expanding team within the music industry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex backend systems, contribute to innovative projects, and collaborate with a talented group of professionals dedicated to transforming the digital music landscape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PHP development, particularly with Laravel, and possess the resilience and adaptability to navigate through legacy codebases often characterized by intricate and spaghetti code. This position requires onsite presence in San Francisco, working five days a week, and offers the chance to be part of a forward-thinking company that values technical expertise and creative problem-solving.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a combination of technical skills and professional experience, including:

• Proven experience in PHP development, with a solid understanding of backend architecture and best practices.
• Strong familiarity with Laravel framework is highly preferred.
• Experience working with legacy codebases, demonstrating patience and problem-solving skills in complex environments.
• Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco full-time, demonstrating commitment to team collaboration and company culture.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Prior experience in the music or entertainment industry is a plus but not mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  
  

Responsibilities

The Senior PHP Engineer / Senior Web Developer will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks, including:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems using PHP and Laravel.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Refactoring and optimizing legacy code to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Participating in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices, and maintaining high standards of code quality.
• Implementing new features and functionalities based on project requirements and industry trends.
• Identifying and troubleshooting technical issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
• Staying current with emerging technologies and industry developments to recommend innovative solutions.
