Game Developer – Freelance

This role involves troubleshooting and optimizing a C# program developed in Unity for VR applications, specifically targeting both Pico and Oculus headsets. The project requires a skilled developer to review the existing source code, identify compatibility issues, and implement solutions to ensure seamless operation across both platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Unity development for VR, with a focus on cross-platform functionality and debugging complex codebases. This is a personal project, and preference will be given to candidates based in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review the current Unity C# codebase for VR compatibility issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs affecting performance on Pico and Oculus headsets
• Implement code optimizations to enhance cross-platform stability and user experience
• Collaborate with the project owner to understand specific requirements and desired outcomes
• Conduct thorough testing on both VR platforms to ensure consistent functionality
• Provide clear documentation of changes and recommendations for future maintenance
  
  

Skills And Requirements

• Proven experience developing and troubleshooting Unity applications for VR (Pico and Oculus)
• Strong proficiency in C# and Unity engine workflows
• Deep understanding of VR hardware integration and platform-specific requirements
• Demonstrated ability to debug, optimize, and refactor complex codebases
• Experience with cross-platform deployment and testing in Unity
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
