Senior Software Engineer (C++) at BairesDev

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong C++ skills and a genuine interest in the internals of distributed query engines. You’re someone who has worked on execution performance, understands how data moves through a query pipeline, and knows how to use profiling tools to find and fix the bottlenecks others walk past. You’ll be contributing to query engine infrastructure that processes data for some of the largest analytics environments in the world — where every optimization has a real impact.

What You’ll Do:

- Develop and optimize query engine components in C++, focusing on execution performance and reliability.

- Profile and debug distributed systems using low-level tooling such as flame graphs and perf.

- Contribute to the design and improvement of distributed query processing infrastructure.

- Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks across query execution pipelines.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-performance data processing solutions.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.

What We Are Looking For:

- 5+ years of experience in IT roles.

- 4+ years of experience with C++ as a primary programming language.

- Experience with query engine or database internals.

- Background in distributed systems design and development.

- Hands-on experience with performance profiling tools such as flame graphs or perf.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Advanced proficiency in English.
