Business Analyst
Purpose
The Business Analyst in Business Intelligence acts as a strategic partner between business stakeholders and data-driven solutions. This role focuses on transforming business needs into actionable insights through BI tools and platforms, ensuring accurate reporting, data integrity, and effective decision-making. Key responsibilities include requirements gathering, user training and communication, and managing enhancements to BI systems to support organizational objectives.

Purpose
The Business Analyst in Business Intelligence acts as a strategic partner between business stakeholders and data-driven solutions. This role focuses on transforming business needs into actionable insights through BI tools and platforms, ensuring accurate reporting, data integrity, and effective decision-making. Key responsibilities include requirements gathering, user training and communication, and managing enhancements to BI systems to support organizational objectives.
Reports to: Business Process Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to capture reporting and analytics needs and translate them into BI solutions.
- Dashboard & Report Development: Support the BI Engineer in building and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights.
- Fit-Gap Analysis: Assess gaps between business requirements and existing BI system capabilities, and propose enhancements or process adaptations.
- Onboarding & Training: Support new entities and users in adopting BI tools by delivering training sessions and sharing best practices.
- Change Management: Prepare and manage requests for new reports, KPIs, or system enhancements.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and structured user guides, process descriptions, and system documentation for BI solutions.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, ensuring alignment, transparency, and shared understanding.
- Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) and ERP reporting modules.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and SQL.
- Experience with fit-gap analysis and BI solution design.
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
- Familiarity with quality assurance practices.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective cross‑functional teamwork.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying gaps and contributing to effective BI solutions.
- Strategic Mindset: Align BI initiatives with organizational objectives and KPIs.
- Influence & Leadership: Promote and support the adoption of standardized reporting and analytics practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Certifications in BI tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Analytics) are considered an asset.
- 0–2 years of experience in data analysis, BI, or related fields (internships or academic projects included).
- Familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools.
