Angry Birds Friends is one of our most beloved titles, where millions of players compete in weekly tournaments. We’re looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our Barcelona team with fresh eyes and new ideas. You’ll sit right at the heart of the action, learning how to take our core level experience to the next level within a fast-paced, live game environment.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our experienced Level Design team. You’ll dive deep into game logic, explore new mechanics, and understand the player journey from the first slingshot launch to the final pop. We share a massive passion for puzzle games, and we can’t wait to help you grow your skills while we create amazing experiences together.
This is a paid 6-month internship, with a preferred start in April 2026. Please note that relocation or visa support is not provided for internship roles. You’ll work in a hybrid setup with two days in the office per week, and get to collaborate with team members in Espoo, Finland as well!
You will have impact and fun at work by:
- Crafting exciting new levels for our global Angry Birds Friends tournaments.
- Joining creative sessions to understand and balance the perfect difficulty curve.
- Playing through every live tournament to test mechanics and power-ups firsthand.
- Collaborating in data review meetings to see how your designs impact our players.
- Learning the full professional pipeline, from initial design to final release.
- Working with tools like Unity and Git to bring your creative visions to life.
- You’re currently enrolled in a relevant study program and have dipped your toes into game development, whether through solo projects, mods, or student work.
- You’re genuinely curious about free-to-play mobile games and the wider world of gaming.
- You have experience working together with others, may it be through game jams or team projects.
- You’re a motivated learner who feels comfortable asking for guidance when you need it.
- You have a professional approach to receiving and sharing constructive feedback.
- You are proficient in written and spoken English.
- A basic understanding of Unity or other game engines.
- Previous experience or interest in other areas of game design.
- A background or interest in mobile-specific gameplay.
