We are currently hiring a Java Lead to join Deutsche Bank’s engineering team, where you will drive technical direction, mentor developers, and contribute to the delivery of robust enterprise applications. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams in a complex, international banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of backend engineers in designing and developing microservices using Java (11/17) and Kotlin.
- Own the full software development lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Actively contribute to architectural discussions and platform improvements.
- Work closely with Product Owners, UX, QA, and other global teams to deliver features end-to-end.
- Guide and mentor junior/mid-level developers, ensuring adherence to best practices in coding and DevOps.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in backend development, with deep expertise in the Java ecosystem.
- Previous experience as a Team Lead, Technical Lead, or similar leadership role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture, and multithreading/concurrency.
- Familiarity with Kotlin is a strong plus.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, TeamCity), and build tools (Maven, Gradle).
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in distributed teams.
