Web Developer

We're seeking a versatile Web Developer to lead a full website redesign and support ongoing digital initiatives. This role combines visual design, front-end development, and CMS management, with additional responsibilities supporting intranet portals and ongoing site maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Website & Front-End Design

• Lead redesign of the organization’s public website with a modern, responsive, accessible UI.
• Create templates, themes, and UI components within a CMS (Cascade CMS preferred but not required).
• Produce wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and final design assets.

CMS Development & Administration

• Maintain and update site structure, navigation, and content.
• Build and manage templates, components, and branding standards across digital properties.
• Support discussions around CMS modernization or migration.

Intranet / SharePoint Support

• Develop and enhance internal portals using SharePoint or similar platforms.
• Build custom pages, components, and basic workflows.

Ongoing Operations

• Maintain directories and other administrative web components.
• Collaborate with marketing, IT, and internal teams to gather requirements and deliver user-friendly solutions.
• Ensure accessibility (WCAG), performance optimization, and security best practices.
• Provide troubleshooting and continuous enhancements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in web design and front-end development.
• Hands-on experience building templates/themes in a CMS (Cascade CMS, WordPress, Drupal, etc.).
• Experience with SharePoint (modern pages, templates, intranet components)

Strong skills in:

• HTML5, CSS3/SASS, JavaScript
• Responsive frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind, etc.)
• Accessibility, UX/UI best practices
• Familiarity with Git and general web performance/security fundamentals.
• Strong communication and requirements-gathering abilities.
• Portfolio demonstrating web designs, CMS builds, and front-end work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience specifically with Cascade CMS.
• Familiarity with higher-ed or enterprise websites.
• Basic knowledge of PHP, .NET, or other backend languages (nice to have).
• Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud or Figma.
