Job Description

In American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), We are seeking for a Scrum Master who will lead and elevate Agile delivery across multiple cross‑functional teams. In this role, you will coach teams in Agile principles, drive quality-first execution, and ensure consistent delivery of software products through effective facilitation of all Scrum ceremonies and PI planning. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and Architecture to refine backlogs, manage dependencies, and remove impediments. You will oversee Jira dashboards, track metrics, ensure adherence to SDLC practices, and promote continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, technical collaboration, and a passion for improving product quality and team performance.

What You Will Do:

  • Champion true Agile principles across teams by coaching, mentoring, and guiding engineers, QA, BAs, and Product partners toward high‑maturity Scrum practices that eliminate waterfall tendencies and improve delivery flow.
  • Drive quality-first execution by embedding quality practices into every stage of the SDLC refinement, development, testing, deployment—and ensuring teams adhere to strong Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) standards.
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review, Retrospectives) and lead effective PI Planning sessions that drive alignment, transparency, and coordinated delivery.
  • Build and maintain Agile playbooks, processes, and working agreements, ensuring teams have clear, consistent, and repeatable practices for planning, executing, testing, and releasing work.
  • Manage team capacity, dependencies, and cross-functional alignment by working closely with Development, QA, Architecture, and Product to ensure realistic planning and removal of blockers.
  • Oversee Scrum and release dashboards in Jira, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and visibility of progress, risks, quality metrics, and delivery trends for all stakeholders.
  • Analyze team performance metrics (velocity, cycle time, defect trends, predictability) to identify bottlenecks, recommend improvements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proactively identify risks and impediments, manage conflict resolution, and partner with leaders to remove organizational and technical blockers impacting delivery or quality.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads and Product Owners to ensure backlogs are well-refined, prioritized, estimated, and aligned to customer needs and business value.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, fostering an environment where teams experiment, adapt, and consistently strive for higher quality, faster delivery, and delighted customers.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience

  • 8 to 10 years
  • BE/BTech degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Deep understanding of Agile‑Scrum, SDLC methodologies, release management, change management, quality assurance, and systems analysis, supported by hands-on experience as a Developer, Technical Lead, Project Manager, or Senior Scrum Master.
  • Strong technical background with experience in PLM platforms such as Windchill, Teamcenter, SolidWorks PDM, or Autodesk Fusion; or solid expertise managing or building J2EE-based applications.
  • Proven track record of delivering high‑quality software projects on time, with a history of coaching teams toward improved performance, predictability, and quality outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to present, negotiate, and influence effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to create contingency plans, anticipate risks, and proactively mitigate issues throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Advanced problem‑solving abilities with the capability to navigate complex technical and organizational challenges while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple teams and simultaneous delivery streams.
  • Expertise in project management disciplines including estimation, scope management, risk management, time management, conflict resolution, and quality oversight.
  • Minimum five years of experience leading Agile delivery, large-scale implementations, or multi-team technical projects involving diverse software integrators and cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of application development, system architecture concepts, and the technical dependencies that influence software delivery and system integration.
